Reading Challenges 2013

Tea & books reading challenge
Tea & Books Reading Challenge
Goal of this challenge is to read the BIG books. Books entered for this challenge should at least have 650 pages. It may be fiction and non-fiction and books over 1200 pages count for two books.

I have signed up for level:
Earl Grey Aficionado (6 books)
Am not sure yet which books to fit into this challenge but am already looking forward to read a few big books as I have been neglecting them for a while to reach my GR reading challenge. Update posts will follow.

Anne & Kristilyn’s 2013 Book Bingo Reading Challenge
I love a good game of Bingo and these two ladies came up with a fun idea getting trough some books while keeping the score. I love that they thought of re-reads.
The rules are simple
    Anne & Ksitilyn's 2013 book bingo
  • Be awesome. If you’re not, this isn’t going to work.
  • The challenge runs from January 1 to December 31, 2013.
  • If you want to participate, you can join in any time of the year! Feel free to write up a blog post with the rules linking back to my and Anne’s blog in your sign-up post.
  • If you read one book for the “1 book” in any category, you can’t change it later on when you read another book to “2 books.” Once a square is crossed off, it’s crossed off for good! (Feel free to print off the scoreboard to keep track!)
  • Books read for one square are for that square ONLY and cannot be counted towards another category. This is all about reading ALL THE BOOKS.
  • The FREE SQUARE isn’t really a free square. In order to cross it off, you must read a book by either:
    • Reading a book picked by another participant, or
    • Reading a book in a genre picked by another participant.
  • You can start your board over again, but ONLY if you receive the stamp of awesome by completing a blackout. The “winners” of the challenge will be the ones who achieve the most winning combinations by the end of 2013.
  • You can feel free to post your reading list for each category, though it’s not a requirement.
  • Having a blog or writing reviews for books read is not required. So long as you want to have fun, you can participate!
  • This isn’t a race, but don’t be afraid to rub your reads in the other player’s face. This will be seen as encouragement. Feel free to use the hashtag #2013BookBingo on Twitter!
Though I hope to manage to level "The Super Reader" I will start by giving "The Square" a try.

2013 Mystery/Crime Reading Challenge
The Crafty Book Nerd Mystery/Crime Challenge
I love a good mystery book and have not been reading enough of them this year. Therefore I will enter this nice challenge to read mystery/crime books. I have not decided which books to read but will add them to the list as I go along. Keep an eye on the update posts.

Great restraint with the Bingo challenge ... :) I think I'll start small, too! Good luck with all your challenges!

Good idea, starting small with Bingo. I'm honestly starting with just a short term goal - win with a single line in a certain time frame. You can always push your goals up, after all :D

Good luck!
