You don’t have to believe in ghosts for the dead to haunt you.
You don’t have to be a murderer to be guilty.
Within six months of Pen Sheppard starting university, three of her new friends are dead. Only Pen knows the reason why.
College life had seemed like a wonderland of sex, drugs and maybe even love. The perfect place to run away from your past and reinvent yourself. But Pen never can run far enough and when friendships are betrayed, her secrets are revealed. The consequences are deadly.

Difficult start. Two stories from different past told at the same time. Both are a bit confusing in the beginning. With only 30 pages read in two days it is not easy to get a grip on this story.
I tried to imagine how I would have felt being so closely involved with a lot of dead people. It is not really a miracle that people knowing this start to wonder about her involvement.
Penelope her behaviour confused me a lot. She did not like socializing but seemed to find her friendships on the university important enough to be bothered when she was not with people. Her reaction to the murders did not really add up for me either. This made it very difficult to connect to her and feel for her.
The story is told from her point of view. This made the whole puzzle part of the story a bit difficult. She was not really working that angle. Just wondering how to stay clear from all the trouble even though she was in the middle. The whole community wondering if she had something to do with it did not work either because I knew exactly what she was doing or not. I felt there was to much information about Penelope and not enough about the rest of the situation to make the story really engaging.
